The Brits 2012: Adele Flips the Lid

The winners at the Brits 2012 and why Adele let loose at the end of the show

The Brit Awards took place in London last night. The biggest award show in the UK music calendar is always a lavish, highly produced affair but last night's show felt somewhat dull. The roster of UK acts felt safe and uninteresting and there were precious little surprises from the international performers. Even the much hyped Blur performance to close the show felt underwhelming.

Today's biggest story from the show is the cutting off of Adele on accepting the Best Album and her flipping of the bird to "the suits" while on stage.

Winners are as follows:

British Female Solo Artist : Adele
International Male Solo Artist: Bruno Mars
Critics' Choice: Emeli Sande
Best British Single: One Direction, What makes You Beautiful
International Female Solo Artist: Rihanna
British Male Solo Artist: Ed Sheeran
British Group: Coldplay
Best International Group: Foo Fighters
British Breakthrough Act: Ed Sheeran
International Breakthrough Act: Lana Del Rey
Outstanding Contribution To Music: Blur
British Album of the Year: Adele
